The 5th annual “Taste of Jalisco” in celebration of Cathedral City’s Sister City, Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico will take place Saturday, February 8 from 11:00a.m. to 9:00p.m. and is FREE with FREE parking and open to the public.
NEW this year, there will be more than 12 bands on 2 stages (Amphitheater and Festival Lawn) which includes Nacho Bustillo, Carmen Jara, Machin’, Oxalis, The Myx, Zable Norton, Codigo 442 and DJ Tony Garcia along with many more.
World championship boxing trainer Joel Diaz will meet with fans, LIVE broadcast from U92.7 FM with Bianca Fort and appearance by Carla Soto of Tricolor 103.5 FM, vintage car show with a spectacular Fireworks display at 9:00p.m. During the opening ceremonies there will be a special performance of over 40 Cathedral City High School Folklórico Dancers and Dinastia Charra with over 15 stallions and performers.
Pulp Vixen, a female-fueled dance band whose talent and fun-loving appeal will keep the dance floor packed from start to finish covering hits by Celia Cruz, Selena, Malo and Santana.
The event stems from a lasting legacy from former Cathedral City Mayor Gregory C. Pettis. Pettis was mayor of Cathedral City and helped foster the relationship with Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico, their sister city for over 21 years. On Jan. 18, Jalisco dedicated a monument in Pettis’ honor, a year and three days from his death on Jan. 15, 2019 and the Cathedral City Public Arts Commission will have a unique photo exhibition celebrating the historic city of Tequila.
