Residents Discuss Neighborhood Issues with Councilmember Gutierrez and City Staff

On Tuesday, February 18th, neighbors of the Dream Homes community gathered at the new Agua Caliente Elementary School to discuss a variety of issues with Councilmember Ernesto Gutierrez and City staff.  Councilmember Rita Lamb was also in attendance.  Posted as a “Community Informational Meeting,” the gathering allowed neighbors to hear updates on the proposed neighborhood park, learn about crime prevention, understand the timeline of the Ramon Bridge improvements, how to report code compliance issues, partake in city events, and the importance of being counted for the 2020 U.S. Census.  It also provided an opportunity for neighbors to enlighten city staff on issues facing the community and learn how best for the City to work in partnership with the neighbors to address those concerns.

The Dream Homes neighborhood has undergone many new improvements over the past few years.  Most notably is the new Agua Caliente Elementary School that offers state-of-the-art classrooms and resources for children.  In addition, the neighborhood has seen all streets resurfaced and new sidewalks installed.  It was the first neighborhood to have access to the new CV Link that, once completed, will allow residents to walk, ride, or drive Neighborhood Electric Vehicles to and from shopping centers, restaurants, and work.

Another community meeting will be scheduled in the next six months for additional updates.
