If you have driven on Cathedral Canyon Drive lately, then you have seen the work being done to build the new Ofelia Bringas Memorial Bridge that will span across the Whitewater River Basin. This portion of Cathedral Canyon Drive often floods during torrential rains causing motorist to be rerouted onto Date Palm Drive. Now, you can view the construction 24/7 via a new LIVE webcam portal at http://cathedralcanyondrive.com. Simply scroll down to “Webcam Portal” and click on the icon.
This 650 foot-long bridge project has been in the planning for years, and once completed, it will offer four travel lanes, lighted sidewalks, Class II bike lanes, and a CV Link trail on the east side that will accommodate pedestrians, bicycles and Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs). The bridge project will be completed towards the end of 2021 or early 2022.
