Clinica Medica Familiar – Octavio Ruiz Villalpando, M.D. will offer a free Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing event to the public on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm behind City Hall of Cathedral City, 68-700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero on a first come, first serve basis. The drive-thru testing will be limited to approximately 100 tests. You must be seated and remain in a car as walk up testing is not available. You do not need insurance for the testing, but identification is required.
Additionally, Covered California in partnership with the City of Cathedral City, Inland Empire Health Plan, and Molina Health Care will be onsite to offer information for enrollment into a healthcare plan for those without health insurance. Those without insurance will be provided information to enroll in Medi-Cal or Covered California, if eligible. Many families in the Coachella Valley lost their employer-based health insurance when a family member was laid off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If that is your situation or not, come and get information so that your family does not go without health insurance while we battle a global pandemic, the flu season, and other ailments.
Covered California is the state’s marketplace for the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Covered California, in partnership with the California Department of Health Care Services, was charged with creating a new health insurance marketplace in which individuals and small businesses can get access to affordable health insurance plans that are federally subsidized.
