Riverside County Moves to Less Restrictive Orange Tier on Wednesday, April 7

The state announced today that Riverside County will move to the less restrictive “Orange – Moderate” tier.  Please know the Orange Tier means that the coronavirus continues to spread in the community but at much lower rates than before.  Everyone should continue doing their part to wear a face covering and social distance between you and others outside of your household, especially those who are not vaccinated.  To find the latest information and/or other categories not listed, go to the Governor’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy at www.COVID19.CA.GOV.

In the Orange Tier, the following applies:

  • Bars that serve food can open with 50% capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer
  • Bars that do not serve food can open outdoors with modifications.
  • Bookstores – can open with modifications
  • Clothing and shoe stores – can open with modifications
  • Concert venues – closed
  • Convention Centers – closed
  • Cultural ceremonies, Churches – open with 50% capacity
  • Dance studios – open with 25% capacity + indoor pools
  • Family Entertainment Centers (Kart racing, batting cages, mini-golf) – can open with 25% capacity, 50% capacity if all guests test negative or show proof of full vaccination, food/beverage in designated areas only, alcohol service outdoors only and must follow bar guidance
  • Farmers markets – open
  • Festivals – closed
  • Grocery stores – can open with modifications
  • Gyms and fitness centers – open with 25% capacity + indoor pools
  • Hair salons, barbershops and nail salons – open with modifications
  • Home and furnishing stores – can open with modifications
  • Hospitals and urgent care – open with modifications
  • Hotels and lodging – open with modifications + 25% fitness center capacity + indoor pools
  • Indoor playgrounds – open with 25% capacity, 50% capacity if all guests test negative or show proof of full vaccination, food/beverage in designated areas only, alcohol service outdoors only and must follow bar guidance
  • Libraries – open with modifications
  • Live theater – closed until April 15
  • Massage therapy – open with modifications
  • Movie theaters – open with 50% capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer
  • Museums – open with 50% capacity
  • Nightclubs – Closed
  • Offices (non-essential businesses) – can open with modifications, still encourage working remotely
  • Pet groomers – open with modifications
  • Professional Sports – can open outdoors with 33% capacity including suites, 67% capacity with negative test results or proof of full vaccination, In-State attendees only, Advanced reservations only, restricted concessions and dining.
  • Restaurants – open with 50% capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer
  • Retailers – open with modifications
  • Saunas and steam rooms – closed
  • Shopping malls – open with modifications, closed common areas, reduced food court capacity at 50% capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer
  • Swimming pools – open outdoors with modifications
  • Theme parks – open with modifications at 25% capacity or 500 people, whichever is fewer, outdoor attractions only, in-county visitors only, reservations or advance tickets required
  • Weddings – open with modifications, outdoor and indoor receptions permitted for up to three households, including host and guests. Indoor receptions are strongly discouraged.  Maximum capacity at 50%
  • Zoos – 50% capacity for indoor spaces.
