CATHEDRAL CITY – (April 19, 2021) The City of Cathedral City has been notified that crews working on the new Ofelia Bringas Memorial Bridge that crosses the Whitewater River Basin on Cathedral Canyon Drive will now need to close the road completely starting on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 9:00 p.m. through Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 6:00 am instead of the previously announced Tuesday night closure. The nine-hour road closure is needed to install a main sanitary line across and under the river basin.
Motorists must use alternative routes such as Dinah Shore Drive, Date Palm Drive, and Perez Road (see picture for details).
