More than ten years ago, a community in Cathedral City, California, began to envision a local park – an outdoor space where everyone was welcome.
Now, Ocotillo Park in Cathedral City, CA brings neighbors together over basketball courts, jungle gyms, skateparks, covered awnings, and more.
Ocotillo Park is just one park that has received grant funding from California State Parks – which has administered approximately $3 billion in grant funding since 2000 to local parks throughout California to ensure all people have access to outdoor space, and that community voices guide the process.
Parks California is a nonprofit organization and California State Parks’ official statutory partner that is dedicated to expanding programs, amenities, and resources so that all people have the opportunity to build lifelong, meaningful connections with nature.
