Contera Construction Corp. started working on the soil removal under Ofelia Bringas Memorial Bridge and Date Palm Drive Bridge. These projects consist of removing soil and debris deposited under these bridges during Tropical Storm Hilary. The soil removal is intended to restore the streambed elevation of the Whitewater River Channel at these locations and to evaluate structural integrity of the existing bridges after the storm event.
Traffic Control will be set on Cathedral Canyon Drive and Date Palm Drive for trucks and construction equipment to enter and exit the Whitewater River Channel. The estimated completion date is November 2024.
This new traffic control along Cathedral Canyon Drive is not related to the Cathedral Canyon Multiuse Trail and Sidewalk project.
