Free Pancake Breakfast and Fire Station Open House This Saturday from 8 AM to 10 AM to Kickoff “National Fire Prevention Week”

The Cathedral City Fire Department will host a free pancake breakfast for the community and hold an open house to kickoff “National Fire Prevention Week” on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at Fire Station 412 located at 32100 Desert Vista Road in Cathedral City.

Families are invited to meet the men and women who serve as firefighters in our community and learn ways to plan, prepare, and protect loved ones. Firefighters will inform attendees about this year’s fire prevention theme, “Hear the BEEP where you SLEEP… Every bedroom needs a working smoke alarm!” This is important as roughly half of home fire deaths result from fires reported between 11 pm and 7 am when most people are asleep.

Smoke alarms save lives. You need adequate time to get out safely as smoke from a fire will spread fast. A smoke alarm offers those valuable seconds to escape.

Members of the City Council will also be available to discuss issues of importance to the community as part of the series, “City Hall at Your Corner.”
