City Council of Cathedral City Recognizes the Lifetime Achievement of Legendary Jazz Vocalist and Cathedral City Resident Diane Schuur

Prior to the beginning of the Palm Springs Women’s Jazz Festival this weekend, a special ceremony was held on Thursday night to honor the lifetime achievement of multi-Grammy Award winning and contemporary Jazz vocalist, Ms. Diane Schuur. Mayor Pro Tem Greg Pettis presented Ms. Schuur with an official proclamation on behalf of the City Council and proclaiming that October 8, 2015 as “Diane Schuur Day” in Cathedral City.

Ms. Schuur career has spanned over three decades with mega hits, such as “All Right, OK, You Win (I’m In Love With You);” “Try A Little Tenderness;” and “Deed I Do.” She has collaborated with many stars over the years including the Count Basie Orchestra, Barry Manilow, B.B. King, Ray Charles, and Jose Feliciano. Her concert tonight in Palm Springs is sold out.
