EAST PALM CANYON DRIVE TO RECEIVE NEW SLURRY SEAL
ROAD IMPROVEMENTS STARTING THURSDAY

The City of Cathedral City is pleased to announce that East Palm Canyon Drive will receive a new slurry seal treatment and lane stripping which will vastly improve driving conditions and aesthetics from our city limits with Rancho Mirage all the way to our city limits with Palm Springs. The $600,000 project is being funded through Caltrans and City gas tax dollars as more than 530,000 square feet of pavement will receive the slurry seal treatment.

East Palm Canyon Drive will remain open during the entire process; however, lanes will be reduced in each direction between the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Motorists should expect delays. All lanes will reopen after the completion of each day’s work at 5:00 pm. Here is the anticipated work schedule:

Thursday, October 29
Outside lanes from Palm Springs city limits to East Dunton Way

Friday, October 30
Outside lanes from Rancho Mirage city limits to Melrose Drive

Monday, November 2
Inside lanes from Rancho Mirage city limits to Allen Avenue
Inside lanes from Palm Springs city limits to East Dunton Way

Tuesday, November 3
Inside lanes from Allen Avenue to Melrose Drive

Wednesday, November 4
Outside drives into area businesses from Rancho Mirage city limits to Melrose Drive
