New Street Pavement and Sidewalks Completed on Ortega Road near Date Palm Drive
Students attending nearby Cathedral City High School will have a much safer route to walk to and from school with the $725,000 completed improvements to Ortega Road between Via De Anza and Date Palm Drive. The project included new pavement of Ortega Road along with the construction of curbing, gutters and new sidewalks. The construction also required the relocation of a Coachella Valley Water District water line.
Funding for the construction work came from the approval of the City Council to use Community Development Block Grants along with a Safe Routes to School grant from the State.
