Cathedral City Fire Department Offers Free C.E.R.T. Training for Residents in October
The Fire Department, in collaboration with the Riverside County Emergency Management Department, invites you to participate in a training program at no cost. CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) trains and organizes teams of volunteers who offer assistance to communities before, during and after disasters.
CERT volunteers help their neighbors after disasters when professional responders are not immediately available to help. The CERT program educates participants on how to prepare for hazards that may affect their communities and are trained in basic response skills disasters, fire safety, search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
Registration is limited to the first 24 individuals and registration closes on September 29, 2016. The CERT program requires twenty (20) hours of instructions that will be presented in five sessions. Participants must attend each class to be qualified CERT. Register today to help protect your community. For additional information call Fire Department Cathedral City at (760) 770-8200.
