At the August 1st Cathedral City Planning Commission meeting, the Planning Commission approved a 3,563 square-foot building addition to the existing 2.2 acre Nissan dealership located in the Cathedral City Auto Center.
The addition creates more space for the dealership’s service center and adds a new 869 square-foot mezzanine for a new conference center and additional sales offices. There will also be a 283 square-foot addition that will be comprised of a storage area, mechanical room, elevator and lobby. The building’s exterior will also be updated with the approved expansion.
Palm Springs Nissan located in the Cathedral City Auto Center continues the trajectory of growth for automobile dealerships in Cathedral City. Subaru, which once shared space with Volvo, expanded to be the only brand at its current location at the corner of Perez Road and East Palm Canyon Drive (HWY 111). Volvo moved down the street and now shares space with the brand new Infiniti dealership that moved from Palm Springs to Cathedral City a few months ago. And recently, Honda of the Desert completed its new sales and service center while Shottenkirk Desert Lexus has announced plans to build a new Sales and Service Center along Highway 111 next to Volkswagen.
The City appreciates the continued growth and the dealers’ objective to offer the best service and the most customer-friendly experience in the entire Coachella Valley.
