On May 16th, the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City held its annual Youth / Community Awards Appreciation Dinner to raise money for youth programming. Mayor Mark Carnevale gave welcoming remarks and commended the organization, led by Scott Robinson, for all that it does to help our young residents reach their full potential. Additionally, the mayor and his family donated all the food for the pasta dinner from their restaurant, Nicolino’s Italian Restaurant, and served it to the delight of the attendees.
The awards and appreciation dinner recognized corporate sponsors, volunteer of the year, ambassador of the year, department youth of the year, and community partners that provide invaluable services and input. The Club serves over 600 area youth annually and 100 youth daily. Its mission is to “inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us the most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.”
