Camp P.O.P. for Kids Coming in July
The Student Creative Recycle Art Program (S.C.R.A.P. Gallery) will host a summer art program for kids entitled, “Camp P.O.P.” every Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. starting Monday, July 11, 2016 to Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the new Cathedral City Art Gallery located adjacent to City Hall, 68-700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, in Downtown Cathedral City.
Camp P.O.P. (Politics of Plastic) is designed to be a fun, interactive environmental art camp that examines the role of plastics in our lives and its effects on the environment. Attendees will learn more about the four “Rs” – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Responsibility. Throughout the six-week program, kids will collaborate on a variety of enjoyable projects centered on drawing, painting, mixed-media and more – ending with a kids’ P.O.P. exhibit.
Led by experienced museum educators and volunteers from the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery, the camp is part of a global initiative for a plastic fee July. Admission is free. For more information, contact S.C.R.A.P. Gallery at info@scrapgallery.org or (760) 861-6479.
