The American Public Works Association honored the City of Cathedral City with a Merit Award for the $20.5 million Date Palm Bridge Project that widened the number of bridge lanes from four to six, added sidewalks and bike lanes in both directions, new guardrails, and will allow for the future CV Link to pass underneath. City Engineer John Corella presented the award to Councilmember Ernesto Gutierrez at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.
Our residents and visitors to the city are happy to have this new seismically sound bridge along with its new and improved aesthetics, but as Mr. Corella stated, “it is also great to be recognized by your peers.”
