Thanks to a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, twelve unimproved and worn-out streets between Dinah Shore and 33rd Avenue, and west of Date Palm Drive received a much needed resurfacing.
Named the South City Street Improvement project, the newly resurfaced streets were completed yesterday with City crews conducting final clean-up measures today. Many of the streets in this area were mostly gravel or dilapidated asphalt surfaces, the same as they were when the county established them prior to being absorbed into the city limits.
