Cathedral Cove Mural Project Reveals Its First Mural Today

Mayor Stan Henry, Mayor Pro Tem Greg Pettis and Councilmember Shelley Kaplan joined Cove neighbors, artists, and the greater community for the reveal of the first mural painting by local artist Jessica Schiffman. This event was coordinated by the Agnes Pelton Society.

The Cathedral Cove Mural Project was created to enhance the Cathedral Cove neighborhood, showcase local artists, and bring people together through the beauty of art. The murals are located on private property and funded with private donations. However, the murals can be seen from the public street. The first mural is located at the east end of San Jacinto Street near the Wash in the Cathedral Cove neighborhood.

At this event, Mayor Henry, Mayor Pro Tem Pettis and Councilmember Kaplan presented a proclamation signed by all members of the City Council to the Agnes Pelton Society for their work in the community and for the successful 4th annual Agnes Pelton Society’s Historic Homes and Artists Tour that was held in February.

KMIR NBC was at the event and will have a story about the mural project on tonight’s evening news.
