Celebrating Agnes Pelton: A Journey to Desert Art Center’s 75th Anniversary

CCTV Host Conrad Angel Corral sits down with Peter Palladino before a “Come & Go Open House” held on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, at the Agnes Pelton Home, located in the Cathedral City Cove neighborhood. Special remarks were made by Lisa Loudin, the new co-president of the Desert Art Center, as well as Mayor Mark Carnevale and Councilmember Rita Lamb.

Palladino, the owner of the home, interviews with CCTV to discuss the venue’s historical site designation (Class 1) by the City’s Historic Preservation Committee and the painting that Pelton used to auction off the seed money to form this space. That painting is being loaned to the Desert Art Center in Palm Springs for its 75th season opening (reception details below).

Mr. Palladino’s dedication to preserving local history and his tireless work to celebrate the legacy of Agnes Pelton have significantly contributed to our community’s cultural heritage. His passion and commitment have ensured that future generations will continue to learn from and be inspired by the life and work of this remarkable artist. He received a certificate of recognition from the City Council at Sunday’s event commemorating his valuable contributions to Cathedral City’s historical preservation and artistic appreciation.
