The project to install shade structures over the play equipment at Century and Panorama Park will begin on Monday, April 24, 2023. The install will start at Century Park and finish up at Panorama Park and both projects should be completed by May 10.
The play equipment at each park will be fenced off during this process and will not be open to the public. This project only affects the play equipment. The surrounding area of each park will still be open to residents and visitors.
A total of 9 community parks are located within Cathedral City’s boundaries and there’s another on the horizon. City parks improve our physical and psychological health, strengthen communities, and make our neighborhoods more attractive places to live, work and play. The City Council of Cathedral City authorized the following Park Improvement Projects for Panorama Park and Century Park:
- Installation of new shade structure over play equipment.
- Repair to the soft surfacing.
- Installation of new shade structure over play equipment.
- Replacement of all picnic tables, sitting benches and grills.
- Refurbishing of the existing Century Park playground equipment and soft surfacing.
