The City Council of Cathedral City unanimously approved the appointments of Antonio Baciu and Angel Herrera to the Parks & Community Events Commission:
- Angel Herrera will fill the vacant seat for a term continuing through June 30, 2023 (nominated by Mayor Pro Tem Mark Carnevale).
- Antonio Baciu will fill the vacant seat for a term continuing through June 30, 2024 (nominated by Councilmember Raymond Gregory).
Interviews were conducted by the individual Councilmember responsible for the nomination of each vacant seat.
The Parks and Community Events Commission assess the recreational services and facilities of the community. It makes recommendations to the City Council on such matters as implementation of the Parks Master Plan, parks facilities and usage, funding and sponsorship solicitation, recreational programming, special events and cooperative partnerships with other agencies, businesses and organizations to leverage resources.
