Highway 111 in Cathedral City Will Be Temporarily Closed on October 25th for the Annual CCHS Homecoming Parade
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA [October 11, 2018] With increased security measures, both eastbound and westbound traffic of East Palm Canyon Drive (Highway 111) in Cathedral City will be temporarily closed and re-routed on Thursday, October 25, 2018 between 3:00 pm and approximately 5:00 pm from Date Palm Drive to Cathedral Canyon Drive due to the annual Cathedral City High School Homecoming Parade in Downtown Cathedral City.
Westbound traffic on East Palm Canyon Drive will be re-routed north on Date Palm Drive to Perez Road. Drivers will turn left on Perez Road and head west to Cathedral Canyon Drive. They can turn left on Cathedral Canyon Drive to access area businesses or continue on Perez Road to reunite them with East Palm Canyon Drive at the Cathedral City Auto Center.
Eastbound traffic on East Palm Canyon Drive will be re-routed for thru traffic by turning left on Perez Road at the Cathedral City Auto Center or forced to turn left at Cathedral Canyon Drive and routed north to Perez Road. Once on Perez Road, traffic will continue eastbound until Date Palm Drive. Traffic will turn right on Date Palm Drive and be reunited with East Palm Canyon Drive (HWY 111) near the Cathedral Gateway Plaza Shopping Center.
Motorists should expect traffic delays due to the detour of traffic on this major artery. Access to area businesses will be limited to secondary streets. Parking is available at the City Parking Garage.
Media covering the parade must arrive at Civic Center from Cathedral Canyon Drive by 4:00 pm and park on Avenida Lalo Guerrero or on the lot adjacent to the future CVRep Theatre.
