CATHEDRAL CITY – (December 2, 2020) Road crews will completely resurface Cathedral Canyon Drive from the intersection of East Palm Canyon Drive to Perez Road with a Rubberized Emulsion Aggregate Slurry (REAS) as part of a road maintenance plan starting on Monday, December 7 through Friday, December 11. Due to the resurfacing work at the intersection of East Palm Canyon and Cathedral Canyon Drive between 7 am and 5 pm each day, motorists will experience traffic delays not only on Cathedral Canyon Drive, but also on East Palm Canyon Drive (HWY 111). The traffic signals at the intersection of East Palm Canyon and Cathedral Canyon Drive will be in Red Flash Mode requiring a four way stop before proceeding. Lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction for both East Palm Canyon Drive and Cathedral Canyon Drive near the work areas.
Motorists should expect significant delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes such as Dinah Shore Drive or Perez Road for east – west travel. Motorists should use Date Palm Drive as an alternate route for north – south travel. Business access in the area will remain open.
