Councilmember Rita Lamb has teamed up with the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery during the holidays for creating Elf Magic. Click on the video as she reads, “Elf on a Shelf,” as part of her Coronavirus Storytime virtual reading for children. Councilmember Lamb previously served as a teacher and principal and understands the importance of reading to children as it builds their vocabulary. Children who are read to develop language and thinking skills at much higher rates.
The S.C.R.A.P. Gallery has also created a special hands-on kit full of activities for you to take and have children make art. These Elf Magic kits are filled with materials for you to reuse and repurpose (It’s kind of their thing). Best of all, the kits are free and can be picked up curbside at the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery every Monday from 8:00 am to noon. S.C.R.A.P. Gallery is located at 68743 Perez Road, Building D, Suite 16 in Cathedral City.
