Riverside University Health System is asking those who are seeking their first dose of the coronavirus vaccination to follow the county’s rules when selecting the location. First, if you can get a vaccination from your medical provider or pharmacy, then please do so. If you go to the county’s website to use one of the County’s vaccination centers or clinics, please observe their rules per location as vaccine supply and appointments are limited:
- Phase 1A and Phase 1B – Tier 1 workers and those 65 and older can be vaccinated at the Riverside Convention Center (https://curative.com/sites/24341) or the Palm Springs Convention Center (https://curative.com/sites/25163). These two locations are NOT age restricted, but you must qualify and show proof of qualification in Phase 1a (all tiers) or Phase 1b (tier 1).
Examples Phase 1a (all tiers) and Phase 1b (tier 1) include:
- Acute Care • Skilled Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living Facilities (medically vulnerable individuals) • First Responders (paramedic/EMTs) • Correctional Hospitals • Behavior Health (psychiatric) • Dialysis Centers (staff) • Pharmacist & Pharmacy Staff • Intermediate Care Facilities • Education and Childcare • Law Enforcement • Home Health and IHSS • Public Health (field)/DPSS • Community Health Workers • Primary Care & Community Clinics • Urgent Cares (stand-alone) • Specialty Clinics • Laboratory Workers • Dental/Oral Health Clinics • Mortuary Services Industries • Food and Agriculture • Emergency Services
- Riverside County residents ages 65 and older can make appointments at county clinics by going to https://myoptumserve.com/covid19 or call (877) 218-0381. These locations are AGE RESTRICTED to those 65 years and older. If you are under age 65 and show up, you will not be allowed to receive the vaccination even if you qualify under the various phases of 1a and 1b.
To sign-up for an appointment, please check the websites periodically as the county does not know when the providers will add more appointments as they are based upon available shipments of the vaccine. For the latest information, go to: https://www.rivcoph.org/COVID-19-Vaccine
