The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Coachella Valley starting on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 9:00 am through Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 10:00 pm. Temperatures are expected to range from 115 degrees to 120 degrees. Excessive heat for those working or exercising outdoors can cause heat related illnesses, such as heat stroke.
Residents should take precautions during their time outdoors by wearing light weight and loose-fitting clothing and drink plenty of water. The heat wave can cause health related illnesses among those most susceptible.

The closest 24-hour cooling center is the United Methodist Church of Palm Springs located at 1555 E. Alejo Road, Palm Springs. It is being operated by Riverside County and Martha’s Village and Kitchen.
