As many restaurants with alcohol beverage services are struggling during the coronavirus pandemic, the Alcoholic Beverage Control of California has relaxed many previous restrictions to allow for “To Go” services. Currently, all restaurants in California must be for take-out or delivery only, no restaurant dining.
Therefore, your local restaurant can now provide alcoholic beverages delivered to your house with a food order. You can also pick-up and take the beverages home with your food order. Drive-thru beverage service is also allowed under the current orders. The only caveat is that the alcohol beverages must be stored in a trunk or an area of your car not accessible to the driver if you do not have a trunk. You cannot drink the alcoholic beverages in public or while driving.
