The GoRequest app available on iOS (Apple) and Android operating systems allows residents in Cathedral City to retrieve information such as city contact numbers, news, and events. However, it is mostly used by residents to report information to the City, such as reporting graffiti, traffic signal outage, code violations, abandoned shopping carts and crimes. It is an extremely useful app to download if you have not already.
Recently, the GoRequest app has been updated to be more user friendly and more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. If you have not updated your GoRequest app, you will notice a new GoRequest home page. Next to the City’s logo, there is an icon with a world and an arrow pointing down. Tap on this icon and it will begin downloading the new and improved app on your phone. Once downloaded, GoRequest will add a new app icon to your device that shows the City logo and underneath it is titled, “My Cathedral” (“My Cathedral City” is too long to display fully).
Once you have downloaded the new app and opened it to the new Home page, then your choices of where to go are multiplied. However, the easiest way to get where you want to go is simply click on the biggest button on the Home page entitled, “Start Request.” It acts a search bar or allows you to pick by topic. You can simply start typing “graffiti” and it will take you to the page for reporting graffiti vandalism. It’s really that simple!
If you have not downloaded the app, then go to your app store and type “My Cathedral” and you should see an app with the City logo icon come up in the search. Enjoy!
