Imagine 2040 – Cathedral City’s General Plan – Public Workshop – May 1st

Imagine what Cathedral City will look and feel like in the year 2040 – just over 20 years from now. What are the possibilities, opportunities and advancements that you would like to see? How can the City become even more livable and attractive to residents and businesses?

Join fellow residents and City staff at the first public workshop on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Cathedral City Senior Center located at 37-171 W. Buddy Rogers Avenue to learn more about “Imagine 2040 – Cathedral City’s General Plan Update” and how you can provide valuable input on the future of our City.

What is a General Plan and why update it? A General Plan is the primary land use tool used by cities to guide overall building activities. The Plan is required by State law and includes goals, policies, and programs that the city uses to make land use decisions. Cathedral City adopted its current General Plan in July 2002. It was amended in 2009 when land in the north city area was annexed into Cathedral City. State regulations require general plans to be updated approximately every 10 years.

Each Tuesday evening in May (except May 29) between 5:00pm and 7:00pm, the City will host a public workshop at various locations throughout the City. Come to one or come to all! Share your vision or just join in on the fun of listening to your neighbors’ ideas. Refreshments will be served.
