Mayor Pro Tem Greg Pettis Appointed Vice Chair of the National League of Cities Human Development Committee
The National League of Cities (NLC) President Melodee Colbert-Kean (Councilmember, Joplin, MO) recently announced that Cathedral City’s Mayor Pro Tem Greg Pettis has been appointed Vice Chair of the NLC’s Human Development Committee.
The committee leads the organization in developing NLC federal policy positions on issues involving social services, children and learning, poverty and income support, employment and workforce development, equal opportunity, Social Security and seniors, individuals with disabilities, public health care, mental health parity and immigration reform.
As vice chair of the committee, Pettis will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, the President’s administration and at home.
