Interim Police Chief George Crum Accepts Permanent Role
City Manager Charlie McClendon announced today that former and current Interim Police Chief George Crum has accepted an offer to return to the city as its permanent police chief. Police Chief Crum proudly served as Cathedral City’s police chief for three years and had more than 30 years in law enforcement experience. Crum retired from the City of Cathedral City on November 2, 2017. He returned on February 24, 2020 to fill the role of interim police chief when deputy and acting police chief Anthony Yoakum took a position with the city of Beaumont, located closer to his residence.
