Thank You to the Thousands Who Attended the 2nd Annual Cathedral City Hot Air Balloon Festival
It is the City’s hope that you enjoyed the 2nd Annual Cathedral City Hot Air Balloon Festival presented by Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa.
Thousands came to enjoy not only the Hot Air Balloons, but also the Balloon Launch & Race on Friday, tethered balloon rides on Saturday and Sunday mornings, the spectacular Balloon Glows on Saturday night in Downtown Cathedral City and the Westin Hotel in Rancho Mirage, the Balloon Glow on Sunday that was delayed and smaller due to high winds, the Art Show by West Coast Artists, restaurant row, Kid Zone, auto displays, supporting vendors, and LIVE music that supported our local artists in the Coachella Valley.
The Balloon Festival was our best attended event in recent history as many attendees came from outside the area. That was evident by our local hotels being sold out during most of the weekend and area restaurants benefiting greatly as well. Lots of people came from the Los Angeles and San Diego area thanks to AAA’s magazine ranking us as the #1 drive to event for their January/February edition.
