The City of Cathedral City Continues Taking Steps towards Desert Landscape
In the past week, the City of Cathedral City took additional steps to reduce its water consumption by eliminating grass turf and replacing it with desert landscape. These pictures were taken on the north side of the City Parking Structure in downtown where crews replaced a large swath of grass with plants that are drought tolerant.
Crews continue to replace non-desert landscape around the parking structure and the medians of the city employee parking lot behind City Hall with drought tolerant vegetation. The City is also looking at replacing the grass on the north side of City Hall with artificial turf or desert landscape.
