Cathedral City is Where Art Lives! Its historical roots began as an artists’ colony in the Cathedral Cove neighborhood nearly 100 years ago by famous artists such as Agnes Pelton, Val Samuelson, and Matille Prigge Seamen. Today, more than 70 professional artists still call Cathedral City home enticing collectors to its many fine art and décor galleries.
Visitors come for the resorts and restaurants, majestic mountains, desert flora, and scenic golf courses while its numerous festivals make them want to stay. Namely, the Cathedral City Hot Air Balloon Festival, Taste of Jalisco, Cathedral City LGBT Days, and a portion of the Palm Springs International Film Festival all happen in the Downtown Arts and Entertainment District home to the Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City, Mary Pickford Theatre, CVRep Playhouse, Gregory S. Pettis Fountain of Life, Festival Lawn, and the new Cathedral City Community Amphitheater.
Twice a year, food connoisseurs gravitate to the food truck fiestas, and during the holidays, families partake in the North Pole Village at Snow Fest and “Candy Cane Lane” on Minerva Road.
